Shopping in Paris: The Best Shopping Malls & Areas You Need To Shop At

Paris has many shopping malls; you can easily find one that suits your needs and budget to find the pieces you dream about.

Of course, if you’re visiting Paris on a budget, then shopping might not be on your bucket list, but don’t worry, here are 50+ things to do in Paris if shopping isn’t a priority.

Also, if you visit Paris for the Christmas vacation, remember that all those shopping malls are beautiful places to check out over the holidays as they go all out with some of the most beautiful Christmas lights you can see in the capital.

Best Shopping Mall In Paris

Here is a list of the best shopping malls in Paris; most have been there for decades, and you’ll quickly notice that many have something in common; stunning architecture. So, even if you’re not keen on shopping, I’d still highly recommend you visit those places to admire the details of their architecture from the inside.

They are also great spots for photos in Paris.

Westfield: Forum Des Halles

Redesigned a few years ago in 2018, this shopping mall is located in Paris; there are many good shops. While it was not to everyone’s taste and many people complained about the new design, it is a great place to go shopping in Paris due to its vast number of shops, restaurants and cinema options.

Located in the first arrondissement of Paris, it is a very trendy shopping mall, and many people go there every day to hang out.

A sister Westfield Mall is located in La Defense, the business district of Paris, which is also equally great and huge if you’d like to go shopping.

Address: 101 Porte Berger, 75001 Paris
Access: M4 – Les Halles

Beaugrenelle

A bright white shiny shopping centre where you can find a cinema close to the area of the Eiffel Tower. Which you can see from some of the streets.
It’s a lovely place, usually not as crowded as Les Halles. Going shopping, there is pretty chill, which is an advantage when you see how crowded some shopping centres can get.

If you decide to walk around, this area can offer you some beautiful spots to take photos of the Eiffel tower.

Galerie Lafayette

I love the Galerie Lafayette; it’s the shopping mall where you can wander around and enjoy yourself even without shopping.

The place is a masterpiece of architecture; my favourite time to visit is Christmas, as they put up a new Christmas Tree every year.

Otherwise, it’s also a great shopping place, although it’s not street fashion, more mid-range to high-end. There are also some café (a dreamy pink instagrammable pink Café called “EL&N” can be found on the 5th floor!) and restaurants if you want to take a break while shopping or enjoy the view from the free rooftop.

Le Printemps Haussmann

Inaugurated on the 3rd of November 1865, the former parts of the buildings (Printemps Haussmann is composed of 3 buildings in total), such as the facades and roof, were classified as a part of the historical buildings of Paris in 1975. It’s a shopping mall full of character and history; I highly recommend you look up its history.

A few minutes from Les Galeries Lafayette, located in the Boulevard Haussmann. That means it has a specific beautiful architecture. Even if you don’t stop there, it’s worth the peak! It also has a free rooftop to admire the view over Paris and see some of the beautiful architecture of the shopping mall’s golden details.

You can find some fashion, beauty products and home items there. The price range is the same as the one in the Galerie Lafayette. And this place also held beautiful window displays on Christmas.

Address: 64Bd Haussmann, 75009

Le Bon Marché

While in French, “Le Bon Marché” means something is pretty cheap, this shopping mall isn’t cheap. You can find a lot of high-end pieces and designer items there.
This shopping mall has a lot of imported food; it’s also an excellent spot for photographs.

Address: 24 Rue de Sèvres, 75007 Paris

la samaritaine paris

La Samaritaine

Another impressive building in Paris is where you can find the perfect spot for a shopping spree. Built-in 1870, “La Samaritaine” is one of the best places to go shopping in Paris.

After extensive construction work that lasted 16 years, this iconic shopping mall re-opened its door to the public in 2021. Its architecture makes it a must-see.

Address: 9 R. de la Monnaie, 75001 Paris

Best Shopping Malls Outside of Paris

This mall is not exactly in Paris, but in the suburb, it’s still trendy in shopping and much bigger than the shopping places you can find inside of Paris for one of them.

Val D’Europe & La Vallée Village

Val D’Europe is the biggest shopping mall outside of Paris and in France, there are so many shops and restaurants there it’s impossible for you not to find what you’re looking for.
There are also a lot of areas to chill and keep kids entertained.

La Vallée Village is a street, like an open mall next to Val D’Europe, where you can find many of last season’s discounted designer brands.
There are unique shuttles to take you from Paris if you do not wish to take public transportation.

Access: RER A – Val D’Europe

Best Places For Shopping In Paris For Luxury

Avenue Des Champs Elysée

Have you ever wondered, “What street in Paris is famous for shopping?” I have the answer for you; it’s more of an avenue than a street, though; the famous “Avenue des Champs-Elysées” is not only known as one of the most beautiful avenues in the world but also as one the best place to go shopping in paris – of course, it can also be quite expensive.

But don’t worry; you can also find regular shops there, such as; Zara, H&M, Sephora and so on.

Rue Du Faubourg Saint-Honoré

This long 2km street is one of the most luxurious streets of Paris in the 8th arrondissement. It has plenty of impressive landmarks such as La Madeleine, Place des Ternes and sumptuous hotels and, of course, heaps of beautiful stores for the perfect shopping session!

Avenue Montaigne

Located in the 8th Arrondissement of Paris, Avenue Montaigne is one of the go-to streets if you’re looking for the next designer piece of your collection.
This avenue marks the limit of Paris’s “Triangle d’Or” (golden triangle), composed of the city’s most expensive streets.

Best Places For Affordable Shopping In Paris

Le Marais

Le Marais is one of the most popular neighbourhoods in Paris for various reasons. It has impressive iconic landmarks, a great vibe, and many excellent restaurants for foodies, and it’s a trendy neighbourhood where you can find a lot of good shops to go shopping.

Fripperies – Thrift Shop

Thrift shops are an excellent alternative to the shopping mall if you’re on a budget and looking for excellent pieces – after all, money doesn’t buy style!

Here are thrift shops you need to check out when shopping in Paris:

  • Le Coffre
  • Free’p’Star
  • KiloShop
  • Guerrisol
  • Thank God I’m a V.I.P

Tips For Shopping In Paris

  • Always bring your passport when shopping in Paris – if you spend over 175€ in one place, you can qualify for the “détaxe” refund form you can ask the salesperson at the register to fill out. Then all you need to do is go to the airport’s détaxe desk.
  • If you want to save money and shop in Paris to death, plan your holiday around the annual sales in January and July – so, plan your Paris shopping holiday around those dates!
You have to be ready to shop with many people, though.
  • Don’t be scared of the not-so-good-looking shops. You can find a lot of tiny shops everywhere; some are better than others, but you wouldn’t want to miss out on something unique because you thought it was a tiny uninteresting shop.
  • Looking for good skincare at an affordable price? Then check out the french Pharmacie.
Another good shop to try would be Parashop.

Shopping in paris is an excellent activity all year round so whenever you visit Paris you’ll be able to enjoy your shopping sessions, don’t worry!

Alright, that’s a wrap on all you need to know to do good shopping in Paris when you visit; now all you need to do is to find the perfect souvenirs or item to treat yourself! I am sure you’ll be able to have a fantastic time and find a piece you like to bring back home.
