How To Spend One Day At Europa Park: A Guide

Europa Park Germany, is one of Europe’s most famous amusement parks and an excellent destination for your next vacation, whether between friends or family.
I visited Europa Park for a day and loved my day there. However, one day in the Park can sound a little short, but it is doable! I created this one-day Europa Park guide for people to spend a great day trip to Europapark.
Here is my complete guide about everything you need to know to plan your day trip to Europa Park and my experience!
Europa Park is a popular theme park located in Rust, Germany.
It is the largest theme park in Germany and one of Europe’s most visited theme parks, attracting millions yearly visitors.
Europa-Park features over 100 attractions and rides, including roller coasters, water rides, family-friendly attractions, and various shows and entertainment options.
The park is divided into themed areas, each representing a different European country or region, and offers a range of dining and shopping options. Europa Park is known for its attention to detail and high-quality attractions.
It was my first time there, and I loved each second of my day at Europa Park.
Please note that as of August 2021, to visit Europa Park, Rust, Germany, you must either present proof of vaccination or a negative test within less than 48h.
How To Spend One Day At Europa Park: A Guide
Amusement parks are always exciting outings for kids or adults; it’s always super fun to look forward to all the rides you’ll do and all the yummy snacks you’ll eat there!
Europe has several amusement parks, and as I mentioned above, Europa Park is one of the most famous ones; I mean, it even earned the title of “Best amusement park in the world” for 7 years in a row telling.
Also, while you’re here, why don’t you check out more amazing European amusement parks?

IS EUROPA PARK WORTH VISITING?
Yes, yes and yes.
I could not recommend Europa Park enough for anyone who loves amusement parks and suitable decors and travel!
The Park is divided into eight areas which are themed around popular European Destinations and all fantastically decorated. They also each offer foods and dishes from the countries they represent for a great immersion. It’s like visiting a dozen of countries all on the same day!
Also, the rides are great; the silver star is easily at the top of my favourite roller coaster now!
HOW TO GO TO EUROPA PARK?
There are several ways to reach Europa Park.
If you have a car, you can quickly drive to the Park wherever you’re coming from (France, Germany, Belgium…); there is parking there ( ~7€ per vehicle for the day).
If you arrive by train at Ringsheim Station, you can take bus number 7731 with several stops around Rustlantica, Europa Park, and the hotels. You can buy the ticket directly on board for 2€50.

IS ONE DAY ENOUGH for EUROPA PARK?
Let’s tackle a question everyone is wondering is one day at Europa Park enough?
I mean, it’s a giant amusement park, so I was wondering the same too.
The answer is yes; you can do Europa Park in one day. However, it would help if you did some planning to ensure your day met your expectations. And ultimately, this is going to depend entirely on you.
But from my experience, it is doable. As we were travelling from Paris we chose to stay overnight the night before our visit to be there before the park’s opening.
Europa Park entrance is really easy to find even if you aren’t staying at one of the hotels in the park.
Europa Park Tips
WHERE TO BUY TICKETS FOR EUROPA PARK?
You can get your ticket directly at the Park, but it’s best to get your entrance ticket ahead of time o like most attractions and famous places online. You can easily buy them here at the Europa Park website.
The prices of the tickets change, depending on the period you are visiting.
So the cost of the tickets for one day at Europa Park varies from 57€ to 65€ for adults.
The price for kids:
- Kids under 3: Free
- 4 to 11 years old: 49€ to 56€
EUROPA PARK OPENING AND CLOSING HOURS
Mon-Sun: from 9 am to min 6 pm
You can see the day of your visit the actual closing time of the Park, so look at the opening hours for the day of your visit either on the Europa Park website or directly on the App.

WHERE TO STAY AT EUROPA PARK?
While we only visited the Park for one day, we arrived early and spent the night at “Hotel Mythos”, an excellent accommodation located only 15min on foot from the Park, so you can get there as soon as it opens! The hotel also offers a lovely breakfast buffet.
We paid 115€ a night during the peak season, and as we were on a budget, this was the best option. I would have loved to stay at one of the themed hotels in the Park, but sadly that would have been way too pricey.
But I will definitely be back and experience one of Europa Park’s hotels one day!
TIPS TO VISIT EUROPA PARK
– Make sure to buy your tickets online; for both the Park and the parking if needed.
– Download the Europa Park app to use the virtual line to save you some time from queueing – you can add everyone’s tickets on one mobile phone so that you can queue everyone at the same time
– Make yourself a bucket list of all the rides you want to do.
– The parks open at 9 am; however, you can enter a small portion of the Park beforehand and access the Italy area, where you wait until 9 am for full access.
If you want to be efficient, you might want to plan out a Europa Park itinerary so you know which rides to do first; it’s best to start with the most popular one, the Silver Star, especially if you want to ride front-row (highly recommend if you are a thrill seeker). Because as soon as the park entrance opens, people RUN for this ride.
Mapping out an itinerary will help you to visualise where to go when you first arrive and where you want to go next,
BEST EUROPA PARK RIDES FOR THRILL-SEEKERS YOU NEED TO ADD TO YOUR BUCKET LIST:
- Silver Star
- Wodan
- Euro Mir
- Blue Fire MegaCoaster
Sadly it was a bit rainy and windy on the day of our visit. Therefore, we didn’t do any water rides as we had to take the train back to Colmar, and neither of us fancied catching a cold, but some looked cool.
I am sure they would be great on a hot summer day at Europa Park, though!
As I stated above, we did Silver Star first as it is very close to the entrance, and the queue built up pretty fast there – I mean, everyone was running to get into the line as soon as the Park opened.

WHAT TO PACK TO VISIT EUROPA PARK
When you visit Europa Park, here are a few things you might want to pack to have a successful day, depending on the weather.
- Good walking shoes
- Power bank Charger – you might use your phone often with the apps and/ or taking photos, so it’s necessary.
- Lightweight backpack – you’ll walk a lot through the day
- Extra batteries if you use a camera
Check out the weather to dress accordingly when planning what to wear at Europa Park.
Covid-19 packing essentials:
Proof of vaccination or neg PCR testMasksHand sanitiser
As of 2023, you are no longer required to present proof of vaccination (or PCR test) or wear a mask inside Europa Park.
FINAL THOUGHTS ON ONE DAY AT EUROPA PARK
I honestly loved my day trip to Europa Park; I don’t regret it. We were pretty lucky as we didn’t have to queue that much and managed to do all the rides on our bucket list, and we made good use of the Europa Park application to avoid queueing as much as possible.
This app made our day trip to Europa Park easier to optimise our time (don’t skip it!) in the Park as one day goes by quickly. And it’s also pretty long, so you’ll get tired if you spend all day queuing on the rides.
It is possible to do Europa Park in one day. But if possible, I’d recommend sleeping somewhere close to the Park and not doing too much transportation in the morning or getting a shuttle so you avoid any extra fatigue.
