In 2015 the Universal Exposition (or World’s Fair or International Expostion, you get it) has been held in Milan, Italy. As you may know or not those expostions happened every few years and takes place all around the world. This year it takes place in Astana, Kazakhstan.
And this is also how we, French, got the Eiffel Tower in 1900 when it was held in Paris. The tower wasn’t mean to stay in the first place but now it’s part of our patrimoine !
Now let’s see what the 2015 Edition in Milan was about !
Can you guess the theme of that year Universal Exposition ?
Yes it was about food ! Well actually, Feeding The Planet/ Energy for life but you can translate it as food in my opinion. Also agriculture, speciality and developpement of a several countries. Obviously this also included some delicious food tasting and activities.
The exposition was HUGE ! It lasted 6 months and hosted 137 countries. The biggest pavillions were find on the side of the main venue after Pavilion Zero.
I don’t have a lot of photography of pavilions but some of them were really insane, you could tell how much work and effort the country had put in it. Each pavilion also contains its fair share of informations ; I read some but not all I mean we had a loooot to see and I rather enjoyed how everything was put together and design to be honest. And you know, try some foods ahah.
Now meet Brazil Pavilion which is actually the reason I first wanted to go; when I so wanted to go on that big net when I saw it on the news when the Exposition opened. So there I was 6 months later before it closed ! Of course Brazil Pavilion wasn’t only about this big net, once you each the top you could go inside and also visit a tiny planetarium under. It has a lot of queue to do but it was really cool.
It has to be one of my favourite with Belgium ,Ecuador, and France( but France was really messy hu !) Also the one where I took this picture in was really cool though I can’t remember the name of it right now. It was some sort of huge vivarium etc with camera and technologies everywhere.
Not only countries were present on the exposition you could also find some brand pavilion such as Coca-Cola or Lindt. Which were both really well done.
Lindt offered a visit of how the chocolate is made with some dates and fact about the brand, with a degustation at the end. And you could buy some chocolates if you wished too.
There were also a lot of “photo booth” and games to play on the interactive pannel you could find all around the exposition :
In conclusion; even though we didn’t manage to visit all the pavilion we wanted but it was still an amazing experience so I’m really glad I went even though at first it was only because I wanted to go on that net aha. Now I can say that I have done an Universal Exposition ! So if I got the occassion to visit another I definitely will !
Have you been to the Exposition or any big exposition like this one ? Let me know in the comment.
