Chandeleur | Making funky crêpe

the 1-day (2).png

If you’re  French then February isn’t only about Valentine’s Day or being a short month. It’s also “La Chandeleur” a day where we traditionally make crêpe. And I believe it’s quite important, I mean it’s yummy food. So let’s make some delicious crêpe ! (And no I don’t mean pancake !)

Crepes are one of the easiest thing to cook.  They can be eat either savoury or sweet ask the options are endless. They’re also a really cheap meal option !

RECIPE : (about 10 crêpes)

250gr of Flour

3 Eggs

50cl of Milk

2 Tablespoon of oil

1 Tablespoon of vanilla sugar

That’s all you need ! Some recipe add some Orange Blossom drop but it does taste a bit weird to me, but if you like it you can !

Then it’s pretty easy; all you have to do is to mix up the flour and the eggs then you graduatelly add the milk while slowly mixing it up together. Finally you add the tablespoon of oil and the vanilla sugar.

When you dough is lump free you can let it rest for one hour in the fridge  before you can cook them.

See I told you, it’s easy.

So now you can jump onto the most funny part of it, topping up your crepe with some yummy fruits, whipped cream or nutella.(or savoury food) Of course you can also keep it simple but well I believe it’s more funny this way.

Since I made them as a dessert for today I went for sweet crêpe; and I tried to be artsy but let’s be realistic, I’m not. Yet I still had fun and it was still delicious so it’s still a win I’d say.
